Yunnan Province

What a great trip. I can’t blog while I travel; there just isn’t time, and most of my hotels don’t have Internet access. (The hotel I just arrived at, the spectacular Guanfeng Hotel Lijiang, is an exception.) I’m still around, and will be back to fulltime blogging around March 19. I promise, I’ll have some good stories.

Hi Richard….
Gung hay fat choi from a Berkeley, CA expat with 30 years experience living in and commuting to PRC and HK. Conincidentally we are just back from Zhongdian, Lijiang, Dali and points south. Like you we were very pleased to spend a couple days at Guanfeng using the net and wolfing Yunnan mein and western bacon..what a treat. Despite years of experience living and working in China and HK, this was outr first trip to the so-called autonomous region and other UNESCO designated world heritage cities. We are just beginning to digest all that we observed. Give us a holler when you get back to your home nest. It would be a leasure to compare travel notes and insights with you.

Kindest regards,
DD (aka BJ)

Hi Richard, wasn’t sure one could leave comments right now, but since others have, I’m also looking forward to hearing about your trip – many China news stories in your absence…we’ve missed you!

best,

Lisa
