Extended leave

I am off to Kinmen for work this weekend, then down to SE Asia for a couple weeks of adventure (with my family). I doubt I’ll have a lot of time to be online, but will do what I can to put up a post or two, or maybe even a photo. I’ll be back in full force around October 17.

Update: I have enlisted some new help to keep the premises as toll-free as possible while I’m away. As some you know, yesterday saw a record number of attacks, all from Hangzhou.

Thanks to you and your friends for keeping the pond free of debris.

If you don’t mind my asking, who’s “the family”?

Richard,

I have just started to read your blog recently and found it quite fun to read. But the troll problem seems to be really out of hand. I really hope it can be resolved soon so we can all have civilized discussion here.

To the vandals in Hangzhou,
I know you guys do not like it when people criticize China or probably even mention it (just like the Islamic extremists who do not like people to mention Islam) and will try to play such childish tricks on people if they do.
But don’t you think by hehaving in such a childish way, you actually give some people more reason to think there is something wrong with the modern Chinese? Especially people who go to college are supposed to be more mature and intellectual and should know people can only settle their differences through reasoning and dialogue.
I really hope they you can come to your sense very soon, for your own good actually.
