And the winner is….

Hezbollah. What a frikkin’ tragedy. The warbloggers can rant all they want about Israel’s right to defend itself. But what matters in the end is who wins the war, not the battle. Israel will win the battle, but its scorched earth policy ensures that it will be mired in brutal warfare for a long time to come, perhaps forever. No matter how you slice it, Hezbollah wins, Israel loses. Just like our war on terror, which has ensured a thriving and self-replicating al Qaeda. No one ever learns.

Israel has not lost. It was never their intention to occupy Lebanon and as you can see, they have resumed their offensive.

I recommend reading this.

It lost the PR war and it lost in terms of its goal to destroy Hezbollah. The opposite has occurred – Hezbopllah is stronger and more popular than ever before. And if you link to the JDL, to the insane and despised Rabbi Kahane denounced by the Knesset!), there’s no hope of talking reason to you.

in the age old battle of good versus evil, good always wins, because good is omnipotent.

Good must have been outsourced elsewhere because it’s certainly not prevailing here.

The media coverage of Qana compared to the 150 or so hezbollah shellings of Israel that preceded it seems…what’s that word…disproportionate

The media coverage of Qana is exactly what would be expected. Israel is held to a higher moral standard than any other country, and whether that’s fair or not, it means they have to be very careful about killing civilians.

Did you read the linked story? It’s a good one, by a pro-Bush, pro-Iraq war writer.

Somebody learns — al Qaeda and Hizbollah! They’ve learnt they can sucker the big boys into overreaction, gain valuable PR, divide the Westerners and slowly chip away at their opponents. It’s always nice to fight a stupid enemy. Too bad the stupid one is us…

If we held Israel to the same abysmal moral standard as Hezbollah, then it really wouldn’t matter which side won, would it?

When was the last time Hezbollah slaughtered a couple dozen children at once? How is this tit-for-tat?

Israel will win the battle, why because The Spirit of The Living God is with that City. God is not going to allow that to happen, Israel is God chosen city, God is with them. Isaiah 41. God knows the past, present, and the future. God Bless Israel, and I will be praying for them.
