I read this article and wept. Justice is a concept that obviously only the rich and powerful can afford. Although I have been extremely critical of Chinese society in the past, I realize that most of my anger comes from seeing the similarities to the corrupt, unpricipled, “might-makes-right” behavior of people in my own country, the U.S.A. If a country founded on principle can’t function in a just, civilized manner, what hope is there for a country ruled by ignorant, corrupt, unpriciples thugs like the CCP? It’s quite depressing isn’t it? I guess I can be inspired by the sheer will to live that the Uigher men in Albania have demonstrated thus far. Let’s all hope that they will be able to live a life of freedom and peace with their families soon.

The Uighurs should be allowed permanent residency in the US. It’s the very least our government could do.
