Three-year-old Chinese smoker

More great pics from ESWN, who says these photos have shocked many in China.

Yes, it’s totally awful. Yes, it shouldn’t be allowed. But…awww, isn’t he cute?
Several of my Chinese friends claim to have started smoking at very early ages – usually below the age of ten, but I’ve never heard of a three-year-old doing it before.

Thankfully none of the photos show a puff of smoke.

One of the commenters at the site ESWN grabbed them from suggested that it was a candy cigarette and the response didn’t deny it.

Good thing we can’t take Apple Daily’s news seriously because they are too sensationalistic. *wink wink*

Tom

If you look closely you can see ash on one end of it and a filter at the other.

Candy sticks are normally pure white.

I’m relaying the commentary from the original source as reference as ESWN doesn’t relay this to his readers.

And the candy ones I had in the US long long long time ago were never pure white. Had a red tip at the very least to make it look more realistic.

And I’m still not seeing any smoke in any case, which would have shown in at least in one of the series if it was lit and he was inhaling.

Well I’m not convinced – the tip looks far too convincing. Plus you can’t always see the smoke when you’re outside. In no picture does he look as if he’ exhaled.

Anyway three-year olds pretending to smoke is not much better.

the first reaction was, “oh, my god.”

then, i found the kid was more like “blowing” than “inhaling.”

even if you smoke outside, there will still be smokes.

points taken, i know many kids smoke in China. i was one, first puff was 6 year old, given by some old friend of my grandpa.

have you ever seen this: some men will try to teach their little boys to take a puff, and then pat on their head if they did well, or laughing when the kids coughed. it is like entertainment.

so, if the pictures were true, i will be shocked, but not surprised.
