Anyone want to guest-blog?

I’m simply too busy this week to give this site much attention, and if someone would like to post some new topics that are relevant to my readership (China and US politics) please send me an email. Thanks.

Sure, I’ll be happy to, Richard, and thanks for the honor. Would you prefer “Death of the Left”, or “America’s holy mission in the world” as the first topic?

Funny. However, I try to be open-minded and if you seriously wanted to post about it here I’d consider it. After all, Republicans are people, too (or at least some of them).

Those are joke topics, at least for this blog. However, I’m trying to write up something on the subject of political discourse–how otherwise intelligent people, who might agree with each other on 90% of things, fall into a “tribal loyalty” mindset and lose all opportunity to further understanding or arrive at liveable compromises. Our two parties, though infinitessimally close if viewed from a distance, end up resembling the hyenas baying at the monkeys.

If it will fit in a blog-sized box (and if I get it written), I’ll forward it to you.

How about me, Richard? I can write a long piece about your secret hero is Ronald Reagan 😉

Sam, forward it on.

Jeremy, no. If you want to write about China or the evils of Bush, fine. There are enougjh laudatory posts about Reagan over at Free Republic.

Hi Sam. It was great meeting you over those beers the other night at the bar in front of Jusco’s. Given the fact that you have, to date, suffered two heart attacks, I must say that I was quite impressed by your propensity to both drink and to smoke!

I don’t know whether anybody has ever told you this before, but, in terms of physical appearance, you actually bare a close resemblance to Noam Chomsky – only your hair is considerably shorter and much less messy!

I am very much looking forward to reading your political discourse too.

Don’t keep us all waiting in suspense for too long, will you?

Best regards,
Mark Anthony Jones

Thanks, I think. It was great meeting you. I prefer to think of my appearance as being mid-point between Clint Eastwood and Mr. Peepers, about where my personality is! But I’m a painfully slow writer, and I have 1 1/2 jobs, an active wife, and a biking habit, so don’t hold your breath.

Great meeting you, too.
