Nah, they’re going to wait until it gets dark and then they are going to bring out their dragons…

Makes me pee a little each time I hear it. Too funny!

@PB: Now THAT would be a closing ceremony worth watching!

I'm still convinced that, for the closing ceremony, Beijing is going to rise up, transform into a giant robot and blast off into the heavens, leaving behind a shimmering Olympic Ring-shaped trail. The city will literally sacrifice itself for the Olympics, travelling the cosmos to spread the dream forever. The IOC would cream themselves, and the migrants would be damn happy they were "asked" to leave beforehand.

Ok, back to reality.

Due to unfortunate timing (I live in eastern Canada), I only managed to catch a bit of the opening ceremony as I was getting ready for work this morning. The part I saw was pretty impressive, very powerful.

Of course, the commentary on CBC (Canada's national broadcaster) was terrible- I had the TV on for 5 seconds at most before I heard "China will be the world's economic superpower in a very short time". God. I don't hate China at all, I just hate the minimum 60% of Western media that can't seem to cover the country without becoming moronic. I guess that's why I don't watch much tv.

Anyway, I was just about to give my apologies for anything I may have done to derail the previous thread. Just couldn't take these fenqing no more.
