BOO-YA!

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Does this mean Sean Hannity will kill himself now?

He won’t, but I might! I was counting on a fascist takeover of the United States. No, seriously, I really expected the cheating would be so obvious that the mask would be ripped off and the naked, evil truth would be revealed. But it seems the U.S. is still a democracy. Looks like I was a paranoid ninny. And I threw away a nice middle-class life and a fantastic ocean view home on a San Francisco hilltop to come to this southern hemisphere backwater.

Ah well, I like these Aussies. Good thing my wife is on holiday with a friend. Gives me a few more days of life before she strangles me… “This is all YOUR DOING!”

I consider this overall election result to be an improvement insofar as it will slow down the pace of America’s collapse into vulgarian populist political violence. That’s good; if it happens more slowly then it will give the rest of the world more time to make alternative arrangements for the balance of power.

Meanwhile, the fireworks haven’t even started yet.
The so-called “conservatives” are going to launch into an even bigger hate-fest now than the one that brought the country to its knees in 1998.

Sean Hannity’s ratings are going to go up soon.

YES!

By coincidence, right now “Happy Days are Here Again” is playing on my PC (Annette Hanshaw). Hooray!

Hope the necons and all their cronies have plenty of aspirin and tomato juice on hand. Tomorrow morning they’re going to have one nasty Kool-Aid hangover.

So, how soon can we restore Habeus Corpus and ban torture? Guess it depends on how Montana and Virgina go …

It’s going to be tough – the White House has pretty much promised scorched earth for the next two years – but damn, at least it’s a start.

Some of my favorite villains lost – Richard Pombo, arch anti-environmentalist Congressman – and in spite of Ah-nuld’s big win (and I understand why – after he got spanked in the special election he really did move to the center – I’m hoping that’s where his real heart lies – I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say that it does), all the rest of the key state offices went to Dems (except Cruz Bustamonte, who deserved to go down).

A few painful defeats as well, but overall, it’s a beautiful day.
