Thomas E. Rick’s Fiasco

Quite simply, the most devastating, upsetting book review I have ever read. Period.

A great book review! I’ll add it to my must read list, thanks Richard. It’s a shame that we have to be witness to what is probably the turning point of the US slide into powerless oblivion along the lines of the UK. Interesting that the British leader in charge of a huge mistake was also named George….”one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter”

The Post also recently printed two stories by the book’s author about U.S. counterinsurgency efforts. I’d highly recommend reading both of them.

A transcript of his online chat discussing the book should also still be available at the Post. Unfortunately, the knee-jerk right wing reactions in that chat show exactly why Bush is still in office — and why I’m also fearful of who the next U.S. president will be.

Great book review – I know I have to get this book – although I am afraid I know how it all will end. And readers here know it too. Sadly, the mess in Iraq was all too predictable.

Now class, for today’s quiz: How long will it take for the US to leave Iraq after a radioactive dirty bomb explodes in the Green Zone?
a) 10 days
b) 1o hours
c) 10 minutes

Because you all know that this is how it will end – not with a whimper, but a bang. The US will be chased from Iraq – end of story.
