If this story is true – and it sure sounds like it is – we may have another Abu Ghraib brewing. US Marines are being accused of the wholesale slaughter of 15 innocent Iraqis, for virtually no reason at all. Kids, too. Parents and their children. Apparenly there are images captured on a graduate student’s video camera. If so, brace yourself for the next big Iraq scandal.

Having machine gun riddled kids and HVBS on the walls, does kind of make me suspicious, but it could be faked to discredit the marines (for example, the people might have been killed by militant several days earleir or later). So I’m reserving judgement until the foreign media has gone over this case a bit more.
Then again, there have been a lot of little My Lais that have either been covered up or whitewashed by Washington, time and again, since WWII. So it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if this was true.
