Blog Ads Arrive on Peking Duck

If you have your own blog… if you want to sell copies of your book… if you want to promote an event… if you want to tell the Chinese blogosphere anything at all and send them over to your site — now you can do so on the cheap with a Blog Ad on Peking Duck.

Check out the blogroll sidebar for the link. And check the site itself (including the sitemeter) and see for yourself: traffic is strong and the comments come fast and frequently. That’s good for advertisers..

Okay, enough pimping myself! I never expect to get rich from it, but maybe it’ll help pay for my site maintenance and a few newspaper subscriptions (like the unlinkable SCMP). Thanks.

Richard, if the traffic on your blog is really that big, you can make dear good money by google adsense, which you can apply over here https://www.google.com/adsense/, if you are american citizen you can use Yahoo! Publisher Network as well, which you can apply here . By far, they are the best money making programs for high-volume blogs. I can walk you through some technical details if you feel curious.

Richard,

I am a great admirer of what you done on this site. I am extremely pleased to purchase a blog ad on your site. I have been a reader (lurker) for over a year, and have always thought your writing has been intellligent and well argued (even on the occassions when I have disagreed). The additions of Martyn and Other Lisa have been truly fine ones as well. I have been (slowly) commenting a little more, and plan to increasingly do so! 🙂

Thank you for all the work you have done and continue to do to bring this site to the China community and the world.

Beyond the ad, I would be happy to meet/buy drinks for any regular TPD writer or commenter when and if they are in Beijing. I have met some of you already (at the dinner a month or so ago), and would also love to catch up with all of you again at any time.

Steve, thanks a lot! It’s really appreciated.

IdYuk, I hate dealing with stuff like this (code, ad layout, pricing, etc.) , and any help you can offer me would be much appreciated.

Richard, you lies on a gold mine, and you don’t know about that. I check your blog traffic, it’s massive. And also do you know you’re the No.1 Pecking Duck according to google? Money it’s here! I tell you you can use your blog to promote China Travel or relevant stuff. Cause Google Adsense and Yahoo Publisher Network are contextual Ads Network, so you don’t need to worry to find the people to buy the relevant ads on your site, cause google or yahoo will put lots of China Travel and Events Ads on your side automatically according to the content of your post which is extremely concentrating on China and will attract lots of readers interested in this china blog niche and maybe fancy traveling to china. So Ads side matches readers side perfectly, it sells automatically! Don’t worry about code, it’s nothing! I’ll deal with it for you. First, you need to let google or yahoo to approve your application to join their ads network, cause that’s not easy especially for joining yahoo Network, but you blog’s traffic will make up yahoo or google’s mind without any fuss and you do need to stress that to them. If you got that done, just let me know, I’ll walk you through the code!

Richard, I sent you an ad. Well done on getting setup with Blogads.

IdYuk’s right – I’ve been using google adsense for a while and it’s a reasonable income source – as you said, not getting rich, but covers a few costs. If you need any help, let me know.

Good luck with the blog ads. It is a good way for the site to pay for its maintenance and other fees.
