“Impeach Bush”

That’s the most popular search item today on Technorati. It has a nice ring to it. What the heck – let’s just do it!

In your dreams, Richard.

It will never happen. However, you can continue to have your fantacies.

Well keep up the good work on the China posts, anyway…

I know it won’t happen. But it’s nice to fantasize – and all those searches for these words!

Johnny, I’ve asked you before to accept the fact that I am a liberal who can’t stand Bush. Deal with it or go. Defend Bush if you’d like, and engage in an argument. But don’t knock my blog for being a liberal one, okay?

Nyah, nyah, it’s a liberal blog! Love the Bush photo, though.

Hey, would it be a first if you linked to a National Review article?? I just saw this nice one on Uyghur repression:

“I am a terrorist”

I’m not going to run it because I’m already having access problems and don’t want to tempt a block.

Thanks Sam, and I am delighted to link to the NRO — they’ve crucified Bush for making mincemeat oif New Orleans. Did you see Dreher’s article there a few days ago on Dear Leader’s incompetence? Yikes. Maybe I’ll blogroll them.

I do not doubt that you’re a left-wing blogger (to associate socialism with the moniker of “liberal” has always struck me as an insult to liberalism).

However, If you’re going to be a left-wing blogger, at least say something substantiative. Quite simply, I expect better of you.

Forgive me for trying to hold your domestic political punditry to the same high standards with which I have seen in your China punditry.

I don’t see how Richard’s standards are any lower on “domestic” issues. He’s simply documenting the misdeeds of a corrupt plutocratic élite that manipulates the people’s patriotism, and impinges on their civil rights, to perpetuate its grip on power.

You know, just like China.

Thanks Vaara; so odd, that Johnny K. can’t see that I am the exact same blogger approaching both the CCP and my own government from the exact same persepctive, with a focus on fairness, accountability, compassion, humanity and justice.

JK, you’ve made your point now many times. This blog represents who I am, so please, take it or leave it. If you think something I wrote is worthy of comment or contradiction, fine, I request you skip all my posts on domestic issues, as they seem to upset you. Thanks a lot.

Here’s what’s wrong with this whole “impeach Bush” idea – he’s done nothing to deserve it. You can disagree with his politics, as I know Richard and many of you do. But less than one year ago a clear majority of American voters decided they wanted those policies enacted for four more years, and they wanted the country run by Bush. That’s called a mandate.

To turn the question on its head, was Congress right to impeach Bill Clinton? If not, please lay out the differences.

Until then, stop playing the man and start playing the issues.

Just for the record, I’ve never advocated impeaching Bush; what a waste of time. This post is about the fact that it’s the most-searched term on technorati today (thus the quote marks in the headline).

No, we elected him and we’re stuck with him.

Simon, usually “mandate” implies something a little stronger that 50.1% of the vote …
