South Park creators’ Team America movie trailer

This movie comes to us from South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and judging from the trailer, it’s going to offend absolutely everyone, the way Parker and Stone always do. Kerry, bush, Kim Jong-Il, al Qaida — all are victims of the satirists’ sword. (Matt Drudge is already telling us how furious the White House is over the movie, so we know it must be good.)

I know, I know, it’s in terrible taste — but everything they do is in terrible taste, which makes them so wonderful. Political correctness goes out the window, and it’s no-holds-barred parody, at least if this movie follows the usual Parker-Stone pattern. We’ll see, but it sure looks like Bush has yet another thorn in his side to deal with in the movie theaters this summer.

Perfect. Something to lighten up this election season. The Bushies take themselves so damn seriously and any attempts to shut this down will expose them as the true assholes that they are.
However, didn’t Stone and Parker support Bush during the last election?

I think it’s great, considering the “God is on our side” self-righteousness of our current leaders.

Did Parker and Stone really support bush in 2000? Somehow I can’t imagine it, but nothing surprises me anymore. I couldn’t believe it when I learned Trey Parker is a Mormon, so anything’s possible.

Well, if Drudge says it it must be true.

I believe they did support Bush. I am pretty sure I recall reading that somewhere.

I’m not sure if I believe that they really supported Dubya – don’t forget that right after he was elected, Trey and Matt did the series “That’s My Bush” which characterized Dubya is a total buffoon.

Ironically, the actor that played Dubya in the series was the same actor that played Dubya in the 9-11 Showtime lovefest movie.

And, more useless trivia – the reason they used marionettes was in protest that the new Thunderbirds movie replaced the marionettes with actors.

Richard you have truly outdone yourself. Cross straits sabre rattleing and South Park on the same blog. Some in the White Hoouse may be upset with the movie, but I doubt W is. In 2000, after the candidates made the rounds of the Letterman, Leno, etc shows – the staffs of the shows all said Bush had the best sense of humor and was always game for a little fun at his own expense. Anyone who cannot laugh at himself has no sense of humor.

That’s why he loved Fahrenheit 9/11 so much.

Except that Moore’s film was never intended as any kind of humor. It was an all out attack piece. The comparison to the brilliant parody of the South Park shows doesn’t hold up.
