Death Wish: Put bush out of office!

You think I’m joking?

A South Florida woman who died this week had an unusual last request. Instead of flower or contributions in her name to a charity, she asked those who loved her to try to make sure President George W. Bush is not re-elected

Loved ones said that Joan Abbey was committed to her political passions, even in death…..

Abbey was buried the day after the Democratic convention ended. Her unusual death notice in the Miami Herald said: “You can honor Joan’s values by voting against George Bush and contributing to a liberal or Democratic cause.”

Abbey’s nephew, Martin Shapiro, said, “What she cared most about was improving circumstances in this country… getting rid of George Bush and making this a better country for all people.”

Let’s help Joan Abbey’s great dream come true. All of you who are still resisting, I beseech you, vote for John Kerry — don’t do it for me; do it for Joan Abbey.

Eda Kavin’s recent obituary in the San Francisco Chronicle had a similar wish:

“Eda’s memory can be honored by supporting an artist or by helping to unelect “that damn Bush”. Eda thanks you.”

🙂

Actually the whole story in her obituary is quite intriguing. Someone I would have liked to have met…

I really like that. We’ve never seen anything quite like this in America before, people so obsessed with getting a sitting president out of office — even dying old ladies share the obsession. Of all the things they can possibly ask for people to do in their memory, they say, “Vote bush out of office.” Imagine how intense this fear and loathing of bush must be….

Hmm, Bush or Kerry, hard choice here, hey lets all vote for Ralph Nader the Israli hater. Yes forget the conventional path use the vote that your antisedents died fighting for to vote for a man who hates democracy, freedom of speach and freedom of faith.

Vote Nader and see the body count rise, but who cares as long as we kill more of them than they do of you. See the glorious rise of White America over the world.

Doesn’t anybody vote on economic and social policies any more, get real.

Vote for whoever is going to pick up society by the ears and reform the bits that should be reformed while leaving the bits that don’t to get on with it.

America takes more time arguing about things than it does getting them done, get on with the show.

The choice is obvious and simple: Vote for Kerry. The No. 1 goal is getting bush out of office and replaced by someone competent, experienced and sane. There’s simply no other choice; Kerry it is. I’m glad we finally have that settled. Now all of you, register and vote, and in the meantime, work like hell to advance the cuase.

Conrad, that’s not nice! (Actually, I think it’s great. You didn’t write it yourself, did you??)
