It wasn’t like this when I went to high school

Police with guns drawn burst into a South Carolina high school yesterday looking for….marijuana! (They didn”t find any.)

Surveillance video from Stratford High School in Goose Creek shows 14 officers, some with guns drawn, ordering students to lie the ground as police searched for marijuana. Students who didn’t comply with the orders quickly enough were reportedly handcuffed.

What is wrong with these people? What were they thinking? How could they do somethjing so blatantly wrong and stupid?

I think it had less to do with trusting the kids, and more of a statement about socio-economics. And color.

The sheriff’s a jackass, also, for his comment that “we’ll do it again.”

You have more info on this than I do — were they poor/non-white students? It really makes me sick. If they thought they were planting bombs or assisting Bin Laden, maybe I can see the heavy-handed tactics (maybe). But marijuana, a fucking harmless weed?? When are we going to stop criminalizing drug users, an insane waste of tax dollars and one of the greatest failed campaigns in all of history?

Hmm. Sigh.

You been to http://www.Drugwarrant.com?

It’s a site that records all of the US government’s foibles on the drug wars. Like this one.

From the interview I saw, it was pretty apparent that they were not the right color.

Come on – the police and government go after the easy targets. Look at all the time and money wasted on the Walmart / illegal alien bust. These are just immigrants that are trying to make a living, not Arabic sympathizers who are running operations in the US. What a waste of money.
